Mumbai: A major action has been taken by the Air Intelligence Unit at Mumbai’s International Airport. Drugs worth Rs 18 crore have been recovered in this action. The agency has arrested a female passenger with drugs. After the arrest, the Intelligence Unit is interrogating the woman. The Intelligence Unit had received information from intelligence sources that a female passenger was traveling from Zambia to Mumbai. This woman is traveling with a large consignment of drugs, which is a case of smuggling. The Intelligence Unit was alerted as soon as the intelligence was received.
After getting the information, the Intelligence Unit team increased its surveillance at the airport. During this, the Intelligence Unit got infatuated on a woman. After which he was interrogated. During interrogation, his bag was checked from where a huge quantity of drugs were recovered. The age of the woman is about 40 years.
Drugs recovered from woman’s bag
Intelligence unit officials said that after the drugs were found from the woman’s bag, she was arrested and is being interrogated. Officials said that about 3.584 kg of heroin has been recovered from the trolley bag of the woman. According to officials, the value of the seized drugs in the international market is around Rs 18 crore.
During investigation it was also revealed that the woman passenger reached Mumbai while traveling from Zambia to Addis Ababa. The name of the woman is being told as Qwensi Chilufya, who is a citizen of Zambia and had reached Mumbai for the first time on her visit to India. The woman was traveling in the name of a temporary business trip so that no investigating agency could have any doubts.
Intelligence unit is engaged in interrogation
The Intelligence Unit has taken the woman into custody. The Intelligence Unit is interrogating to know where it was going to be supplied. Who is the leader of this gang and with whom are its wires connected? However, till now the Intelligence Unit has not got much information.
