Three BJP workers have been killed by militants in a village in Kulgam in Jammu and Kashmir. This information is given by the local police. The police said in a statement, “At around 8.20 am today, Kulgam police received information about a terrorist incident at Vaikepora village, where militants opened fire on three BJP workers. After the attack, senior police officers reached the spot. They have been rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment, where they are declared brought dead.
Police said, “Initial investigation revealed that the militants opened fire on three BJP workers identified as BJP district youth general secretary Fida Hussain Yatu, activists Umar Rashid and Omar Ramzan Hajam, who were residents of Vaikepura.”
National Conference leader Omar Abdullah condemned the attack. He tweeted and wrote, “Horrific news was received from Kulgam district of South Kashmir. I condemn the targeted killing of 3 BJP workers in the terrorist attack. May Allah give them a place in Jannat and in this difficult time may their family get strength.” PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti also tweeted on the incident and wrote, “Sad to hear about the killing of three BJP workers in Kulgam. Condolences to their families. After all, only the people of Jammu and Kashmir lose their lives due to ill policies of the Indian government. “
