New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will jointly launch Parliament TV. It will be inaugurated at 6 pm. Lok Sabha TV and Rajya Sabha TV have been merged into a new TV channel which has been named as Parliament TV. Senior Congress leader Karan Singh, economist Bibek Debroy, NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant and lawyer Hemant Batra will host separate shows on this new channel.
A source said, “Parliament TV is being set up as a research channel. This channel will present high quality content to the national and international audience on topics related to democratic values and institutions of the country.
Parliament session will be broadcast
The proceedings of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will be broadcast live on this channel during the sittings of the Parliament session. Apart from this, informative programs will be offered in the rest of the time.
Karan Singh will be seen giving information about many religions, then Bibek Debroy will be seen talking about history. On the other hand, Amitabh Kant will conduct a program on the subject of India’s transformation, while Hemant Batra will present a program on legal subjects.
Sanjeev Sanyal will keep his point on the economy
Sanjeev Sanyal, Principal Adviser in the Finance Ministry will be seen giving his talk on the economy through Parliament TV, while Ambareesh Mithai, a well-known doctor of endocrinology, will present a program on health-related issues.
Ravi Kapoor, a retired Indian Administrative Service officer and former secretary of the Ministry of Textiles, has been made the Chief Executive Officer of Parliament TV, while Manoj Arora, Joint Secretary in the Lok Sabha Secretariat, has been appointed as its Officer on Special Duty (OSD).
