Mumbai: Maharashtra politics has heated up after Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari’s letter to CM Uddhav Thackeray became public. In the letter, Gadkari has made serious allegations against Shiv Sainiks of obstructing the work of the National Highway. Bhavna Gawli, MP from Yavatmal Washim, is under the scanner. Gadkari has also warned of stopping the work and demanding the intervention of the CM at the earliest.
The “letter bomb” of Modi government’s strong minister Nitin Gadkari has stirred up the politics of Maharashtra. In a letter to CM Uddhav Thackeray, Gadkari has made serious allegations against Shiv Sainik and Washim Yavatmal Lok Sabha MP Bhavna Gawli of interfering in the work of National Highway.
Gadkari has written in the letter that many public representatives are interfering in many projects of the National Highway. I have received many complaints in this regard. In many projects, demands are being made from officers and tractors going outside the rules. If the public representatives are not listened to, then efforts are being made to stop the work through agitation by instigating the workers. Especially in the Washim district of Maharashtra, this interference is more visible.
Akola to Nanded 202 km long route is going from Medsi to Washim. I have been informed about stopping the work of this road by the people’s representatives and Shiv Sena workers as it is passing through Washim city. Similarly, the Pulgaon-Karanja Malegaon-Mehkar Sindkhedraja highway is bad. Its repair work is worth 135 crores. But in Washim Lok Sabha constituency this work has not been completed so far, while the work in other places is almost complete. I have come to know about the Shiv Sainiks stopping work especially near Selu Bazar.
When the contractor resumed work after repeated complaints from the people, Shiv Sena workers set several machinery on fire. Efforts are being made to create panic among the officials and among the contractors.
After Gadkari’s letter became public, BJP again surrounded Shiv Sena. Ram Kadam has said that Shiv Sena is making recovery in development. After Gadkari’s letter became public, the Congress, which is in power in Maharashtra along with Shiv Sena, has targeted both Gadkari and Shiv Sena.
Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole has said that after being together for 25 years, how suddenly the BJP remembered the antics of Shiv Sena, while the cost escalation is happening in the highway projects being built across the country. Patole has made a demand to Gadkari to issue a white paper regarding this. On the other hand, Bhavna Gawli, MP from Washim Lok Sabha, has not yet received any reaction on this whole matter.
Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has also warned CM Uddhav Thackeray that if he does not intervene in this matter soon, then his ministry will have to consider approving the works of National Highways of Maharashtra. Along with this, Gadkari has also requested to take big action in this matter.
