Covid Study: Researchers from Rutgers University of America studied from March to May

Patients with severe symptoms of Kovid-19, hospitalized and facing blood transfusions are at greater risk of death. This has been claimed in a US study. It said that researchers from Rutgers University of America assessed the health of 375 serious patients of Corona from March to May. 128 samples were examined from the group, who had bloodstream infections and 92 percent of them were from bacteria.

This study has been published in the journal ‘Clinical Infectious Diseases’. Co-author of the study Pinky Bhatt said that these patients were admitted in ICU due to the possibility of being under extreme mental stress, low oxygen content. Patients who needed to be given oxygen from outside, the problem of blood flow infection was more. Scientists said that the death rate of such patients admitted in the hospital was more than 50 percent.

In the US study, 80 percent of the patients included during the hospitalization were given antimicrobial drugs, which kill bacteria. This medicine was also given to those patients who did not have an infection in the bloodstream. Bhatt said, more studies need to be done to understand its signs.
