New DelhiDelhi Police has filed a 1000-page chargesheet against Sushil Kumar in the murder case of former junior national wrestling champion Sagar Dhankhar at Chhatrasal Stadium. Sushil Kumar and his associates locked the stadium door from inside and beat Sagar Dhankhar and others with batons, hockey and baseball bats for 30-40 minutes. This information has been given in the charge sheet filed by the Delhi Police in the murder case.

Dhankhar and his four friends were allegedly assaulted by Kumar and others at the stadium on the intervening night of May 4 and 5 over a property dispute. Later, Sagar died due to his wounds. Police investigation revealed that Sagar and his friends were kidnapped from two different places in Delhi and brought to the stadium after which the gate was locked from inside and the security guards were asked to leave. .

Police said in the 1000-page chargesheet, “In the stadium, all the victims were surrounded and all the accused beat them up badly. All the victims were beaten up with sticks, batons, hockey, baseball bats etc for about 30 to 40 minutes.” was beaten.” The Crime Branch, which is probing the case, also revealed that some of the accused had brought guns there and had threatened the victims of dire consequences.

A victim called the police and informed
Meanwhile, a victim managed to escape from the spot and called the police. After which the local police and PCR van personnel reached the stadium. The investigation revealed, as soon as the accused heard the police siren, they took the deceased Sagar and the injured Sonu to the underground place of the stadium. The accused left both the victims there in an injured state and fled from the spot.

According to the post-mortem report, the cause of death of Dhankhar was ‘injury to the brain caused by the attack of a blunt object’. Five vehicles were seized from Kumar and his associates. A double barrel gun and five live cartridges were also recovered from the rear seat of a vehicle.

Request for prosecution under 22 sections
In the charge sheet, the police have relied on scientific evidence including the verbal statement given by the deceased at the time of death, the place where the accused was present, CCTV footage and vehicles recovered from the spot. While requesting for the prosecution of the accused under 22 sections of the Indian Penal Code, it said, the material collected so far during the course of the investigation as mentioned above, there is sufficient evidence against all the accused.

The chargesheet mentions the names of 155 prosecution witnesses, including four people who were injured during the dispute. The Delhi Police had registered an FIR against the accused for offenses like murder, attempt to murder, culpable homicide not amounting to murder, criminal conspiracy, kidnapping, dacoity, rioting.
