Jammu Kashmir: Police have arrested an active Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist and his associate in Baramulla district of North Kashmir. According to the information, on the basis of an input, arrests have been made and arms and ammunition have been recovered from them.
Baramulla Police said that a joint force team of Police, 46 RR, CRPF and SSB set up a Check Point (MVCP) near Hilltop Cheradari Baramulla. During checking, the party saw the movement of two unidentified persons who were coming towards Cheradari.
Eight live rounds of 9mm pistol recovered
Seeing the party, both tried to run away from the spot. However, both the persons were cleverly apprehended, who during interrogation identified themselves as Haider Mohalla Ushkara resident of Baramulla (Ashiq Hussain) and Kanthbagh resident of Baramulla (Uzair Amin) Gani. In personal search, one pistol, one pistol magazine, eight live rounds of 9 mm pistol and two HE-36 hand grenades were recovered from the possession of Ashiq Hussain Lone, while two UBGL grenades were recovered from the possession of Uzair Amin Ghani.

It is pertinent to mention here that these terrorists had obtained these illegal weapons with the intention of carrying out terrorist activities in Baramulla and its adjoining areas, the police said. A case has been registered at Police Station Baramulla under sections of Arms and UA (P) Act and investigation is going on. More arrests are likely in the case as the group has provided many important clues.
