Kolkata: The controversy over the alleged late arrival of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee during the review meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi went to Bengal to take stock of the impact of Cyclone Yaas. Between the verbal war of BJP and Trinamool Congress, now the Chief Minister of Bengal herself has given the answer. She told Prime Minister Modi not to insult her in this way. Mamta said, “We have got a tremendous victory so you are behaving like this? You tried everything and lost. Why are you fighting with us every day?”
Note that Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a 15-minute meeting with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday at Kalaikunda Air Base in West Midnapore district of Bengal. In the meeting, the damage caused by cyclone Yas was assessed. According to sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had to wait for about 30 minutes for CM Mamta Banerjee. Mamta Banerjee met the PM and left from there after handing over the documents. After this, the BJP is attacking Mamata Banerjee. Many senior BJP leaders have accused Mamata Banerjee of insulting the post of Prime Minister. Many BJP leaders including Rajnath Singh, JP Nadda, Suvendu Adhikari have advised Mamata Banerjee of obeying the post of PM.
The Central Government said that the Chief Minister is stern, arrogant and supremely neglectful towards the welfare of the people of her state. She has slammed federalism by her petty behavior, Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar has directly accused Mamata Banerjee of “boycotting” the Prime Minister.
Cyclone Yas caused significant damage to the coastal areas of West Bengal and neighboring Odisha in the beginning of this week. This was the first meeting of PM Modi and CM Mamata Banerjee after the April-May assembly elections. To defeat Mamata Banerjee in the West Bengal assembly elections, the BJP had adopted all the tactics. Despite this, Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress won a big victory in the state. Even after the resignation of several MPs, MLAs and ministers, Mamata Banerjee’s party waved its glory in the state.
Before the review meeting, Mamta Banerjee said, “I will only go there for 15 minutes. I will not be there for the review meeting. I will hand over a paper with details of the loss.” Note that the last time PM Modi and Mamta Banerjee met on January 23 at the Victoria Memorial in Kolkata on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. In the midst of Mamata Banerjee’s speech that evening, slogans of “Jai Shri Ram” were raised. Then she left the stage without completing her speech in anger.
