New Delhi: Schools will not open for children up to 8th standard in the capital Delhi. According to the order of DDMA, it has been decided to keep the schools up to 8th closed for the time being. However, classes from 9th to 12th will continue to run with 50% capacity.
Private school owners had demanded to open the school
Many private schools were demanding that schools should be opened for the students of classes VI to VIII at the earliest. The Delhi State Public School Management Association (DSPSMA) said that a protest will be held outside Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence if schools are not opened for students of classes VI to VIII by September 24.
DSPSMA chief RC Jain said, “Schools have been opened for students of classes IX to XII and no complaints have been received so far. Attendance will improve further if private schools start providing bus services, as not all schools are providing bus services.”
After a significant improvement in the COVID-19 situation in the national capital, the Delhi government has opened schools and colleges and coaching institutes for students of classes IX to XII from September 1.
