Kolkata: A case has been registered against BJP leader Shubhendu Adhikari and his brother Soumendu Adhikari in Kanthi, West Bengal. The Trinamool Congress has accused both the leaders of stealing relief material from the municipality. An FIR has been registered in this connection.
Before the assembly elections in Bengal, Shubhendu Adhikari left the TMC and joined the BJP. He contested against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee from Nandigram seat and defeated Mamta. Since the election results, the differences between the BJP leader and TMC are clearly visible.
Let us tell you that, BJP has elected Shubhendu Adhikari, MLA from Nandigram and once close to Mamata Banerjee, as the Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly. The Center has given Y+ (Y+) category security to his father Shishir Adhikari and brother Divyendu Adhikari.
Shubhendu Adhikari defeated Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee by 1956 votes from Nandigram seat in the assembly elections. For the first time in the West Bengal assembly elections, BJP has emerged as the main opposition party. Of the total 292 seats, TMC has won 213 seats. In the 2016 elections, TMC had won 211 seats. 77 seats have gone to BJP’s account. Others won two seats. At the same time, the account of Congress and Left alliance was not even opened.
