Bus Fire: NIA team reached Katra to investigate the accident – for sample, 4 died in the accident

JK Bus Fire: A team of National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday inspected the bus which mysteriously caught fire near Katra town. The town of Katra is the base camp for pilgrims visiting Mata Vaishno Devi Temple in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. Four people were killed and 24 others were injured when a moving bus caught fire near Nomai, about three kilometers from Katra. It caught fire shortly after leaving Katra for Jammu. Most of the devotees were in the bus.

Jammu’s Additional Director General of Police (ADG) Mukesh Singh, who inspected the spot, said that the survivors and people living near the spot have spoken of hearing the explosion in the bus. He said that the preliminary investigation did not indicate the use of any explosive. Singh said, “The bus caught fire while going from Katra to Jammu. The cause of the fire has not been confirmed yet. ”He said that the forensic team is looking into it.

Lt Governor expressed grief over the incident, announced compensation
According to officials, a specially trained NIA team with explosives visited the spot around 3.30 pm and collected samples. They stayed on the spot for about one and a half hours. He said a senior police officer informed the team about the incident. Expressing grief over the incident, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has announced an ex-gratia of Rs.5 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased and Rs.1 lakh each to the seriously injured.

National Conference and Congress expressed grief over the incident
The National Conference and the Congress have expressed grief over the incident and demanded an inquiry. National Conference President Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah condoled the incident and wished the injured a speedy recovery. “It is expected that the concerned department will appoint a team to ascertain the cause of the incident,” the former chief ministers said in a joint statement.
