In the midst of the Corona epidemic spreading in the country, on Thursday, the BSF arrested a Chinese citizen illegally entering India from the Bangladesh border. The Chinese national was caught while entering Malda, West Bengal. Till late evening, BSF, police and intelligence agencies are interrogating this Chinese national closely.
According to the information, the name of the arrested Chinese national is Han Junwei (36 years) and he is a resident of Hubei province of China. A Chinese passport has been found from him, which was issued in February this year. According to sources, the Chinese national has a Bangladesh visa.
According to the BSF, various agencies are questioning him closely and trying to find out what is the motive behind his illegal entry into India. However, no satisfactory answer has been found so far.
Let us tell you that the Malda area of West Bengal is quite notorious for border-crime. In addition to smuggling of fake currency, drugs, cattle and weapons in large numbers from across the border, there is human-smuggling. This is the reason why this region was once known as Mini-Afghanistan. This is the reason why the country’s largest investigative agency, the NIA, had to build its base in Farakka, adjacent to Malda.
This is the second time in the last four months that Chinese nationals have been nabbed while illegally moving in West Bengal. In the month of March this year, two Chinese nationals were arrested at Bagdogra airport with fake Aadhar cards. Both Chinese nationals were living illegally in India despite their visa expiring.
