Kolkata: Efforts are being made to persuade BJP MP Babul Supriyo, who has announced to leave politics. According to sources, Kailash Vijayvargiya and Dilish Ghosh have been asked to talk. On Saturday, Babul Supriyo said in his Facebook post that he is leaving politics.
Babul Supriyo wrote in a Facebook post, ‘‘going goodbye. Talked to my parents, wife, friends and after listening to their advice, I am saying that I am leaving. I am not going to any other party – Trinamool Congress, Congress, CPI(M), nowhere. I can confirm that no one has called me.’’
Babul Supriyo wrote, ‘‘I have lived for a very long time… I have helped someone, disappointed someone, it is for the people to decide. To get involved in social work, you can do so without being involved in any politics. Yes, I am resigning from the post of MP.’’
Both Supriyo and Debashree Chaudhary were removed from the post of minister. Four other MPs from West Bengal- Nishit Pramanik, Shantanu Thakur, Subhash Sarkar and John Barla were inducted as Ministers of State in the Council of Ministers.
